Do You Support Other Artists Like How You Want to Be Supported?

(In Photo: The audience at the July 3 Artomatic show presented by Liberated Muse. The audience was filled with members of www.LiberatedMuse.com out to support their fellow artists)

So, you have a new CD out and want folks to buy it. You go on sites that are heavily populated with other artists like yourself and post your info, with the intent of having folks pay attention and buy your product. Other artists are doing the same the same thing while you are doing this.

Do you take the time and support other artists grinding like you are? Do you attend events where you may not be the featured performer? Do you buy the CDs of your fellow indie artists?

Share with us how you do (or don't) support your fellow artists on the grind just like you.

I support other artists like me at performances that I am not apart of. I make sure that I am in the front particapting as a "Fan" would. For me it depends on what type of venue it is. I attended the Black Luv fest and supported Head-Roc and GODISHEUS and turned my California Family into to GODISHEUS Fans. I really wanted to buy there T-shirt and put it over my outfit. But I had no funds to do so, but id didnt stop me from being front and center and Being the best Fan that I could be.

I find that the artist that support eachother to the fullest have been knowing eachother for years or have similar styles as artist, so its kind of like a "click." So, it makes it a lil easier to support when the artists or basically on the same team.

I agree with that. There are times that I would like to make it out to shows, but just can't. I'm pretty sure that there are many people in my position. I love music, plays, and anything that has to do with the arts. However, after starting a family, working full-time, and going to school full-time, funds are not always ready and available to be used. I do understand if people cannot purchase my album because economically times are tuff for many people especially the audience that I’m trying to reach. I try my best to support people the best way that I know how. I feel that people without a click has the lesser advantage even if they are talented. However, there are some people that will support a local independent artist. We should not look at show attendance and record sales to identify those that support us. There is a girl that lives across the street from me that I vaguely talk to. One day she told me that she listens to my album every day, and that it helps her get through tuff times. At that time I really needed to hear that. Although that may not be the type of support that some people may look for, that is the type of support that motivates me to continue to go on with my God given talent.
