I know that feeling. Be good to you, and it will flow. You've done alot so far, and writing in a series can be pressureful. You're a very adept writer. I'm glad you and your muse got to talk. lol.
I had a hardtime writing Greenbone (a novella in the Maji Omnibus), even though I knew exactly where the story was going. I was amazed at how difficult it was for me to focus. Finishing it, I realized my voice had grown.
Sometimes that may be the cause of the strain in writing periods. In a process of expansion the flow can get funny for awhile, but the end result is always bigger and brighter than before if we keep moving.

You're definitely one of the adept authors in Sci-fi, with conscious symbolisms embedded in your stories no less. I applaud you.

Much Respect and Love, Sistar Jeffers

"Ella Curry and EDC Creations are proud to announce the books that created an impact, for readers and the EDC Creations network. Our “literary hallmarks” indicate excellence in writing and storytelling. These are the books we want to feature to the world. Each year thousands of people — educators, concerned parents, community leaders, authors, poets and publishers — devote their time and resources to presenting the reader with great books! However, too many outstanding books do not get the attention and reader support that they deserve, they float just under the radar. It is our mission to connect readers with these hidden gems and bring them books that will change their lives."

"Immortal is an amazing story that flows like water. It’s a speculative-cool piece that takes the reader on a trip that is horror, cyber-punk, and fantasy, all rolled in one. Valjeanne Jeffers is one of those authors who can make words drip color. I had a ball exploring her world. I was captivated by the surreal dreamscapes Karla and Joseph ebbed in and out of, and the utilitarian society in which they spent their waking lives. Immortal is one of the most unique blends I have had the pleasure of reading in some time. Future collides with past. Magic, with science. This is one cool ride, and I am compelled to recommend this piece."

"Ms. Jeffers has created an oddly vivid and not so far-fetched neo-Earth in Immortal. Quick paced and well-crafted, I felt a connection with her protagonists and a distilled hatred for her antagonists. The characters' backstories fit together like the pieces of an intricate puzzle. From the absence of war to the presence of the obscenely paranormal, the frightening and beautiful; dangerous and air-tight; Immortal is filled with yins and yangs that somehow culminate into a satisfying literary balance. A wonderful read from beginning to end.Immortal is filled with yins and yangs that somehow culminate into a satisfying literary balance. A wonderful read from beginning to end."

"IMMORTAL by Valjeanne Jeffers is an enchanting tale of magic, werewolves and humans that turn into creatures of the night. The story was mesmerizing to say the least. I look forward to reading the next installment in this series. The writings of Mr. Jeffers remind me a lot of the writer Clive Barker. So if you are into stories that are magical that tell tales of the mythical, then this is your book."

Man of Rivers

(for Quinton Veal)
Let my breath
wash your broad face
pool in your sepia collarbone
anoint your bread

As you taste
catch the crumbled pieces
mixed with tears
hold them tight
in your calloused palms

vows and roads
are etched in water
I float
‘neath southern moons
in your embrace

murmur lust’s syrup and life
near my heartbeat
and I’ll crone swollen,
dripping peaches
sing forever to your soul

And let our cry be ripened by
the dark Mississippi…

My Man of rivers

Stand up For Health Care Reform

Dear Valjeanne,

The conservative movement has made it their number one priority to stop health care reform.

They have mobilized their followers and are outnumbering us by 3 to 1 in calls to some Hill offices.

We can’t let them bully and we can’t let them win – a majority of Americans want health reform and want it now.

What you have to do is simple: call 1-800-828-0498 and ask to be connected to your Representative. Then tell us that you called, so we can make sure we are keeping up with ou… Continue
